OUR VISION

Where it began and where we are going

Grubb Properties was founded with the recognition that being compassionate is good business. The company began as a homebuilder with the goal of providing homes to families, particularly Black families, that had been traditionally “redlined” from homeownership through banks practicing a form of loan discrimination. Our founder Robert Grubb provided home financing to these families at no mark-up to the rates at which he could borrow from banks. The company built approximately 400 homes for families who otherwise would not have benefited from the economic power of homeownership.

Today, we focus on addressing the housing affordability crisis by providing essential housing through our Link Apartments brand, which targets those making 60-140% of area median income.

Grubb Properties is committed to fair and equitable pay. We do annual compensation reviews to ensure we provide pay equity regardless of gender or ethnicity.

Diverse Board of Directors

Our seven-member board includes three women, one of whom is a woman of color.

Annual Training Programs

Team members are required to complete annual training on diversity and inclusion, Fair Housing, harassment-free work environments, and more.

Talent Development

To improve diversity representation, we’re recruiting talent in evolving ways by increasing recruiting at HBCUs and partnering with internship programs devoted to underrepresented talent.

Annual Reporting

To evaluate the effectiveness of our hiring practices and employee retention initiatives, we report annually to the board of directors and senior management employee and management statistics that track gender and ethnicity data.

Partnership with MWBEs

We partner with MWBEs (Minority/Women-Owned Business Enterprises) on investment and development projects throughout the United States.
